Tanks Alot is a family owned, family operated aquarium store, that opened for business at this location on August 29, 1991. We keep
many fully decorated aquariums full of freshwater tropical fish. Tanks Alot also offers all sizes and shapes of aquariums, aquarium
furniture, all fish supplies (for both fresh and salt water aquariums), all sizes of reptile tanks as well as all reptile supplies. And we have
available over 2,000 square feet of shelf space filled with beautiful and unusual aquarium decorations in stock.
At Tanks Alot, we deal directly with manufacturers . So with no middlemen involved, we can offer you much better value than other
stores.
MAINTENANCE FREE SYSTEMS
At Tanks Alot, we use and offer maintenance free aquarium systems to you . In our store we have many aquariums full of tropical fish and have successfully kept up to 1 pound of fish per 1 gallon of aquarium water. Some of our aquariums have been running continuously since we opened in 1991 (all of our water is at least 6 years old, as of 2009) without being emptied, vacuumed, water changed, no chemicals, no cartridges, no money spent on them at all except food, “NOTHING TO REPLACE, ADD OR CHANGE”. In These Aquariums we have great success in fish keeping and fish breeding!
The secret to our system's success, is that it cultivates the exact same bacteria and enzymes that Nature uses to keep rivers, lakes, and oceans clean. The Maintenance Free System cultivates these bacteria and enzymes in higher numbers than would ever normally occur in nature (or with any aquarium “filters” for that matter). These bacteria literally consume everything that is waste, leaving only basic minerals behind... Ashes to Ashes, Dust to Dust! To call our system a “filter” is a mis-statement, to accurately describe it we have to call it a “Biological Incinerator” because it “burns up” the fish waste biologically. Even with no fish in our aquariums, we still throw food in, and the aquariums, themselves eat the food!
Our maintenance free systems are up to 10,000 times more biologically efficient than “normal” aquarium filters. Making things even better, we offer our maintenance free systems, at prices comparable to what other stores sell their high maintenance, high on going cost, filters. Our systems are simple to set up and operate (they don't hang over the back or go under the aquarium). They require no replacement cartridges, no chemicals, no special lights, or anything else additional (you never spend another penny). All you do is feed your fish, and enjoy!
Why don't other stores carry the Maintenance Free System?
From a business standpoint Maintenance Free Systems are a bad idea. Nothing to replace, add, or change means... you never need to come back, spending more and more and more money on supplies, fish, and services. Compare the Maintenance Free System, (in a business frame of mind) to the filters that all other stores carry... buy filter cartridges, buy cleaning supplies, buy chemicals, buy medications, fish die... buy more fish, hire aquarium cleaning companies, etc... forever! We at Tanks Alot care more about you, and your pets, than we do for huge profits! That's why we offer the Maintenance Free System that the other stores won't!
AQUARIUMS: WHAT SIZES? WHY GLASS?
At Tanks Alot, we keep (in stock) aquariums up to 360 gallons (10 feet long) and we special order aquariums up to 700 gallons. The special shapes of aquariums we keep in stock are the following: corner tanks, hexagon tanks, flat-back hex tanks, bow front tanks, and extra tall tanks. We also offer custom aquariums and cabinets limited only by your imagination. We recommend glass aquariums for the following reasons: most acrylic aquariums scratch very easily, bulge out in the middle, pull apart at their back seams and leak, turn yellow, have small openings in the top (making it very difficult to use large decorations), develop hard water deposits that cannot be scraped off, and cost up to 4 times as much money as glass. Glass aquariums, have none of the disadvantages mentioned above.
REPTILE TANKS
We also stock reptile tanks from 25 to 200 gallons, and we offer custom reptile tanks limited only by your imagination. Our reptile tanks are all glass with escape proof sliding screen tops that slide on built in grooves. Our reptile tanks seal so well, that not even small insects can escape from them!
