For many years (before moving to Vegas) I’ve owned numerous tanks (up to 6 at one time). They sure were beautiful, when first set-up and
then they slowly deteriorated as maintenance became more and more expensive and more and more of a chore. Well, not really a chore but a
JOB! Buying and using chemicals, filter materials, gravel vacuums, etc. added up to quite a bit of money, and took more time and effort (weekly
water changes among other things).
So, for the first four years of living in Vegas I resisted the temptation of putting up a large fish tank (I left all my set-ups in New York when I
moved) against a large empty wall in the foyer. But I knew if I set up that tank it would look beautiful (for a while, anyway) and then go downhill
as I delayed the inevitable full day to clean up the tank. And then, at the swap and shop I saw a tank that claimed it was maintenance-free, which
we all know is “impossible”. The vendor of the tank was Dave of Tanks Alot, a Las Vegas operation. But, the interesting thing about that was
that the vendor watching the tank wasn’t Tanks Alot but a booth selling reptiles! The owner of that booth says the tank is there as a showcase
piece, that it’s been there for a long time and no one comes down to clean it, they (the reptile guys) only feed the fish once a week for Tanks Alot
and they leave the tank alone. The tank was crystal clear and the fish were healthy. Whoa! What is this system?
So, naturally I went down to the Tanks Alot people to check out this maintenance-free wonder system. Goody, the sales rep, explained the
system and showed it to me in action. A lot of what he said made sense and an awful lot was totally unconventional. I mean who ever had a
maintenance-free tank?? If you check out maintenance-free tanks on the internet you’ll see all the experts says it’s impossible. But, I took the
chance because the price was fair (and remember it would not cost any money for maintenance materials) and if they were wrong I could
always convert it to a standard system and start doing maintenance (which is what I think I really was expecting) and start doing maintenance
(ugh!!).
Well, it’s now 8 years later (as of Jan. 2009) , the tank cycled, and the fish are thriving. The tank is spotless and the fish are swimming all
over.
Yes, I do have a couple of plecostamus to eat the algae. Yes, I do have to add a little water every week. But, that’s the total extent of the
maintenance that I have done. And my wife is not complaining that the tank is dirty (and because of the canopy there is no mineral deposits on
the full hood and lamp) and it's not noisy (with the power filter submerged in the water, the tank runs silently) and a happy wife is a good thing.
A real good thing.
So, Dave, Tanks –Alot for selling me a maintenance-free tank that I don’t have to fuss over. And I’m certainly not bored staring at a beautiful

5.) Maintenance free filters are great! I was skeptical at first, as have a turtle and they are quite dirty critters. The filter keeps the water sparkling, even after 3 1/2 years. Bill C.
6.) My Husband and I bought a 190 gal. Tank with Stand and no maintenance Kit back in December 2004. We are very pleased with the Whole Maintenance Free System. Before we chose this system, I was going crazy having to clean my previous tank out every other week, not to mention waisting money on filters. If you have Big fish or small, this system is the way to go. I honestly can say you can sit back and enjoy your tank and not have to clean or do water changes ever. Bob & Tasha H.
7.) I wanted to let you know that I purchased a 140 gallon fish tank from you a little over 2 years ago. I was skeptical at best with your claims of "never
having to clean" a fish tank, and "maintenance free" fish tank, having owned many fish tanks in the past and having to clean them once per month. I have to
tell you that I have NEVER cleaned my tank and your system is truly maintenance free. I LOVE IT!!! It is a great system and I have been very
happy with enjoying my tank and not having to spend more time with maintaining a tank. My tank has been disease free and the fish are
growing rapidly as well as being healthy. I have never had to add any chemicals.
The only thing I do for maintenance on the tank is add water because of evaporation. Thank you for suggesting this system. Anyone that
wants a fish tank should look into this system ...........they won't regret it one bit.
I also like the fact that if I ever have a question regarding the tank or the fish, you are there to guide me.

8.) Four years ago I was nervous about buying a 135 gallon tank. I thought things would get ugly and I would dread taking care of a tank this size. After listening to the guys at Tanks Alot, there really is no work at all. Goody sold me the maintenance free package, which costs a little more than "just a tank", but there is truly nothing to do to the tank but feed my fish. I don't even own anything to clean up the tank...I have crystal clear water. The only time my water clouded up is when I used flake food from the supermarket. I went back to Tanks Alot for advice and they gave me their "Super Food" for the fish. The food floats at the top and the fish love it. I do not have to maintain the water...it maintains itself. I do not have to take water out and replace it with fresh water. I have fish as old as my tank. The water is the same water that I put in four years ago. I just have to add in water for the evaporation. The tank cleans itself like a natural lake. I never thought it would be this easy...but it is. 11.) My name is Diana, I have been a customer of Tanks Alot since 2006. I have 2 turtles. These great pets used to be very nasty and hard to keep up. I have had them since 2003. I was looking for a bigger tank and a few filters to keep up with the mess of the turtles. I went to many aquarium stores that sold tanks and supplies. I found Tanks Alot and called. The price given to me over the phone was the best in town. I went down there and when I walked in I noticed like 60 or more tanks full of fish and turtles. The tanks looked so clean almost like new. When I walked in I noticed that it did not smell like fish, so I told my boyfriend they must be new. I approached the sales person and asked how much would 10 gold fish cost? He told me that none of the fish or living creatures in the store are for sale they are only for display. I asked how he kept the aquariums so clean because I have never seen anything like it. He introduced me to the maintenance free cleaning system that is natural. The only thing I know is ever since that day I have never had to clean my tank and my turtles are healthy happy and clean. The system is so easy to use. It does not build up calcium and you don’t have to constantly buy filters or change anything. I was so tired of cleaning my tank every other week. I really was ready to give up on having my turtles. I am so happy now, I’m going back to get a bigger tank for my turtles and now I have fish too. 12.) Just messaging to say thanks for the awesome filter. I didn't believe you at first that it would be completely maintenance free. But all I've had to do since I put it in my tank was enjoy my 12 turtles and feed them. The filter is great I love that I don't have to buy any cartridges or have to deal with cleaning the tank every week. It does all the work and I never have to deal with smelly or dirty water anymore! 13.) When I took the chance... against the advice of friends and other fish stores, about the so called "maintenance free" aquarium systems, I was praying that I was doing the right thing. Sure enough, it paid out in a big way!! I haven't changed the water the entire 8 months (as of March 2009) I've had my tank up and running and the waters been crystal clear since start up. I test the water every week and it comes up perfect. I feed all my fishes your "superfood" and their health, color, and growth are phenomenal!! I like it so much that I bought a second system for my 4 turtles. Anyone that has or owns semi-aquatic turtles know how messy they are, but with your system in place I have yet to change the water other than adding water because of evaporation. The water has been crystal clear and has no smell. Shall I go on?? I would recommend this system to anyone! It's great and it works!!
